People all over the world recognize July 20th 1969 as the date of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon. To mark its 50th anniversary, Victorinox launches a special Man on the Moon edition of its popular Tinker Swiss Army Knife. Honoring this historic milestone, the collector’s item uses a unique Polispectral process to obtain exquisite black-colored tools. The pieces are engraved with a serial number, as well as the year and limited to the symbolic number of 1,969. To crown the celebration, a stunning image of the moon landing adorns the scales.

Victorinox and aerospace fans are on stand-by for the launch on July 20th 2019 at 20:17 UTC. This is the exact time of the Apollo 11 landing. Each Tinker Man on the Moon will be delivered with its certificate in an inventive slip-lid box. The special edition is also a nod to NASA whose astronauts have employed Swiss Army Knives on many of their space missions.

Not just a collector’s item, this pocket knife is designed for serious use. Its black tools are made to last thanks to stainless steel and Polispectral, an electrochemical coloring process. To achieve the color, transparent chromium oxide film is built up, coating the stainless steel as well as safeguarding its character.

Highly functional, the Tinker pocket knife features a staggering total of twelve tools, including a reamer punch and a Phillips screwdriver. It is designed for tinkers on the move who always have their knives at hand ready to build, hack or fix. The Tinker Man on the Moon Special Edition is all set for a celebratory lift-off in 2019.
