A constant source of inspiration for Richard Mille, the world of automobiles shares the same creativity and research processes as the present RM036 tourbillon wristwatch.
In collaboration with Jean Todt and the global organization 'FIA Action for Road Safety', the present watch is capable of offering a tangible solution to road safety problems. The teams worked closely together to develop a mechanism capable of interpreting the physical constraints felt by the body during rapid decelerations to make drivers aware of the dangers linked to the road.
Powered by caliber RM036, the movement combined the time with a mechanical G-sensor. The mechanism is developed and patented by Renaud Papi exclusively for Richard Mille and it translates the movement of a small internal mechanism to an indicator. Thereby enable the owner to visualize the forces through the scale at 12 o'clock and could be re-set to zero through a push piece in the band.
