Another masterpiece designed by Tinker Hatfield, Mike first broke out the Air Jordan V ("The Fighter") before the 1990 All-Star Game break. The original player edition model offered here displays a white/black/fire red colorway with black/transparent outer-soles with red Jumpman logo, black/red mid-soles with zig-zag motif, and white leather uppers which feature "23," "Nike Air," and the Jumpman logo embroidered in red. These models also feature an asymmetrical ankle collar, lace lock, and reflective 3M material on the tongues, all firsts for a sneaker. Interior tagging confirms a size of "13" and the outer ankle of the right shoe is signed by Jordan in faded vintage black sharpie.

These specimens show significant wear (some of which may not have been incurred by Jordan on a basketball court), including some scuffs and discoloration to the leather. Also, the mid-soles exhibit cracking and chipping (this material tends to degrade in this manner over time) but have not separated from the uppers. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
