Autograph letter signed by Ernest Hemingway on Hotel Suecia, Madrid letterhead, signed 'Love Papa' [June] 27, [1959].; light creasing along folds; with the original air mail postal envelope addressed in Hemingway's hand. Addressed to Aaron E. Hotchner, arranging to meet in Alicante, touching on boxing matches & bullfighting. It reads, "Dear Hotch: We'd figured out all the combinations of meeting and still making Zaragoza. But then got your wire departure delayed.Flight at Alicante is 6pm June 28th. We will meet at Carleton Hotel - (Biggest there) will leave tickets. To get to Alicante you can fly to Valencia and take taxi from there. But Bill[ Nathan 'Bill' Davis] says best take taxi from here via Albacette. ALBACETTE.Antonio in fine physical and mental shape. But this is his first with Luis Miguel since L.M. retired and it is rough to make your comeback fight after such a bad wound. We have Salmon pink English Ford with Gibraltar license plates E H." Framed with a portrait of Hemingway. Aaron Edward Hotchner was an editor, biographer, novelist and playwright. In 1948, he met Ernest Hemingway, and the two were close friends until Hemingway's death in 1961. Hotchner wrote Papa Hemingway, his 1966 biography of Hemingway, whose work he had also adapted for plays and television. He wrote many teleplays in the 1950s and 1960s, including adaptations of Hemingway's The Snows of Kilimanjaro, The Killers, and The Fifth Column. Bookseller Inventory # 107835
