I Dream of Jeannie signature Genie bottle. (NBC, 1965-1970) Vintage original "Jeannie" bottle with original cork stopper. The glass bottle is expertly studio hand painted and finished with plum, gold, white red and pastel enamel and acrylic paint to serve as Jeannie's (Barbara Eden's) home away from home in the I Dream of Jeannie series. The story goes that director and show developer Gene Nelson was looking for a Jeannie bottle that didn't resemble Aladdin's traditional magical brass Genie lamp when he came across a special Jim Beam bourbon decanter in a liquor store window. The bottle was repurposed and decorated to become the most iconic prop in the beloved series and one of the most instantly recognizable objects in TV history. This bottle is highly visible in multiple episodes of the series as the bottle that Jeannie materializes from. Measuring 14.5 x 6 in. Exhibiting minor age and production wear. Only minimal paint rubbing and scratching in areas. In vintage very fine condition. Accompanied by a LOA stating that the bottle was originally acquired from the show's set decorator, Maury Hoffman. Exhibited: Children's Museum of Indianapolis, IN March 11 - May 12, 2011. $30,000 - $50,000
